| Differentiated technology that caused the company in times of crisis
CW-Hydro Co., Ltd. is a leading company in the industry special pump industry.
It was founded in 1967 and has been on the road of manufacturing industrial pumps for over 40 years.
Ahn Sang-koo's steady R & D investment has led to an annual growth rate of more than 30% every year since 2005, and
this year it has recorded the highest sales since its foundation.
Recently, the eldest son Ahn Seong-joon is preparing for the succession of the family business and is laying the groundwork as a longevity company.
CW-Hydro Co., Ltd. had only about 10 employees at the time of its establishment.
However, it was recognized as a technology, and delivered 2000HP dredging pump at the time of construction of Pohang Works site.
This delivery helped the company to quickly settle down.
In the early 1970s, extreme drought was making the country suffer.
The crisis of the country came to the opportunity of the ambassador.
The rubber hose factory used for agricultural pumps is getting many orders from the country.
Passionately, I was in an unexpected situation when I was making my order.
Mindyong industrial use water has stopped operation of the Mala plant. The company was embarrassed but not frustrated.
We developed the pump for the heart pump and started the factory.
The technology was patented, and No. 1 pump was commissioned to the factory.
The heart pump was also delivered when the Pohang water supply water condition deteriorated.
He also received an appreciation plaque from Pohang City for helping to smooth the supply of water in Pohang in a short period of time.
In the 1980s, the company succeeded in delivering the seawater coolant pump for the new power plant within six months.
At that time, it took 10-12 months to build this pump in foreign and large enterprises.
It was the first pump I made, but it has been successfully installed and still used without any problems.
CW-Hydro has overcome the crisis of the company with technology. It is because of Ahn Sang-koo's commitment to research and development.
Ahn expressed his willingness to invest in R & D as a leading company.
Even now, we have more than 20% of the staff of the pump research institute. Thanks to that, there are many patented technologies in related fields.
In 1980, it developed the small size ball pump and got KS certification for the first time in Korea.
After that, the new technology (NT) mark, the paper raw material pump and the heating medium oil high temperature water pump have obtained the excellent quality (EM) mark.
It was during the financial crisis in 1998 that the business that seemed to win was the biggest crisis.
For the first time since its founding, the company suffered from a deficit.
This is because the domestic pump market has reached saturation due to low-cost pumps.
The company moved to the new plant in 1997 to enter the advanced pump market and invested heavily in manufacturing facilities.
However, the downsizing of the domestic economy has come as a burden to the company.
It was thanks to the loyal staff that it was able to pass this time well.
The company and its employees decided to share the pain and yielded each other.
As a result, the labor-management relationship became more intense.
From 2003 to 2006, it reached agreement on non-negotiations. In 2004-2006, it achieved 1300 days of non-disaster targets for three years.
From 2006 to 2009, the company has adopted the Joint Declaration of Labor and Management for four years and is paying performance bonuses through achieving its goals.
Employees who have been in service for more than 15 years will also be able to travel with their spouses to Korea and abroad.
CW-Hydro is preparing for a new leap with a stable domestic market.
We have been developing overseas business teams and actively supporting the pump institute.
In particular, the company plans to promote boiler feed water pumps (BFP) for boilers.
This product has been imported all the time because of demanding advanced technology such as ultra-precision machining, but CW-Hydro succeeded in localization in 2005.
The company is currently exporting its products using high-value pump technology to foreign plants such as the Middle East, Asia and Europe.
Recently, the company is making efforts to receive ASME, N Stemp, a US nuclear power pump manufacturing certification.
