# How do you determine the rotational speed of the pump?
?? It is advisable to select a rapid rotation speed as long as the suction lift permits. The lower the flow rate and the higher the pressure, the better the speed. Normal AC motors use 4P, 2P.

Revolutions per minute N = 120f / P (1-S) (rpm)
f = Herz
P = number of poles of the motor
S = slip (decimal)

f = 60 Hz, 4P, 3% slip, 1746 rpm
2P at 3492 rpm
